What would you do?

What would you do if...

-You had twins, and at birth, discovered that one of them had Down Syndrome?
-You had a choice:

• To send he/she away to an institution, never to be seen again, but could survive or..
• To keep he/she, but have a life of pain and suffering (and possibily death) for the child and the family?

Gosh, I wouldn't even know.
