Not a good day
- Your mouth hurts
- You feel really dizzy driving to school
- You had to run to the bathroom in the middle of class, puking up all of your breakfast AND lunch. There goes my $6 bowl of Viet noodles.
- You pass out (aka fall asleep) in BioChem, when you just KNOW you are behind already.
- All the chemical fumes from the 3-hr lab makes you feel like you're going to pass out anyways
- Drinking water makes you want to puke...still...
- The only thing you've eaten all day is some fruit and a 7-Up, and you still feel woozy
So...can we say..not a good day? I hope tomorrow is better. At least I hope I'll feel better. Who knew that pulling out wisdom teeth can start a puking massacre within my body?? I think I'm just plain weird.
Welps, I suppose for the next day or so my diet will continue to be composed of : congee, water, grapes, soups, and maybe even scrambled eggs. Oh dear. The carvivore side of me has emerged. I need the damn meat!

The lopsided chipmunk
- I'm glad Cindy said to eat pineapple to ease the bleeding before surgury. Lo and behold, this is the only household remedy that I've seen work.
- I'm glad that I actually got put to sleep for this. I'd imagine the horror staying awake.
- I'm glad mommy stayed home to take care of me and my drooling self =)
So I don't really have much of a memory of what happened. I remember saying "bye bye Mom" right before I passed out, and waking up with a mouthful of cotton swabs. The nurse was pretty mean to me, but I don't really want to get into it right now. But the end result? A lopsided chipmunk face with brusing on the side of my cheeks. Not a pretty sight. I have absolutly NO idea why the right side of my face is sooo much fatter than my left. But I could deal with that. Not with the brusing that is coming. So, for the past couple of days, a hot water bag has literally been glued to the side of my face. Imagine that eh?
Anyways, on top of everything, taking painkillers, anti-inflamatory medication, and antibiotics to ease myself is starting to make me feel like a druggie.
Not a great weekend, but I'll survive....
However, the upside to this weekend was Sorpie and Darren's bday gift! I loved the korean drama "My Lovely SamSoon" and they got me the TEDDY BEAR FROM THE DRAMA!!!!!!!!!
Andddd some lovely pictures:

Oh I am a happy, happy, spoiled, lopsided chipmunk girl=P
So my belly dancing class started on Monday...............and oh my goodness...what fun me and Diana had. I certainly have a much greater apprechiation for the dance now. Although I've never actually seen a whole dance, I always thought it shouldn't be too bad (it's really shaking that ass!). Sorta similar to golf (how hard can it be?!), but in actual real life, it's friggin hard (bloody hell! I missed the ball again!). Anyways, I'm really looking forward to Monday's class, it's such a workout and it's so fun! Unfortunately, everyone in the class seems so serious about learning it. I think it was only me and Diana that kept on cracking up cause of each other. But in any case, i'm pretty glad that I'm taking it now...it's pretty fun!
Okay, off to do some reading and reduce the swelling...toodles!

And let the cat fight BEGIN!
Calgary Sun: "Liberals are out!! Polls show Conservatives leading!! Toronto shall feel the Conservative invasion! oooga chuka ooga ooga"
The Globe and Mail: "Stephen Harper is a distant cousin of "XYZ" of the Trailer Park Boys! They both share a great-great-great-great-great (x1000) grandfather!!!!"
Oh goodness. Who has the friggin time to investigate these things? Really. And it made front page news!
But anyways, those who know me know that I'm pretty ignorant about the political ways, and I tend to really not give a damn. I did vote last election though, and I voted Conservative. Partly cause of all that Sponsorship scandal and I didn't want a PM that was cheating me out of my taxpayers buckaroos. That and I felt the Liberals were in power for way too long anyways.
But this election, I highly doubt I'll vote. Pretty much cause both parties, well, suck, and I feel neither of them deserve to the the prime minster of this country.
Who deserves to be prime minister? Well, of course.........MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! =p
Hahahaha..i'm just kidding boys and girls, don't pull your hair out.
Anyways, that's my 2 cents.
So, in GREATEST news, I found this hilarious game called Swine:

Yes, I know. I know what you all are thinking, "KAREN?! WTF!!!" It's a war game between the "German" Pigs and the "French" Rabbits for ownership of the Farm, to sum up this game. So for those who have heard of Starcraft or Warcraft 3, welps, this is a very hilarious version of it...a real time stategy game. I really don't care what anyone says, 700Mbs might be worth it to blow up rabbit hole and make piggies squeal. Oh morbid morbid I am =P
I actually saw this game a couple of years ago, at EB Games. I didn't buy it though, cause it was pretty expensive, and plus, I was broke. I didn't buy it, and next thing you knew it was gone. Now it is nowhere to be found. I really regret not buying it, cause it looked like a game that was just meant to be fun and silly, not death rampage and real life corpses and blood. And now, the company who made this is offering it out for free download. I'm downloading it as we speak, and I couldn't be more happier! *cheers*
I'm also downloading My Girl, a very new Korean drama that is actually airing in Korea right now. It is hilarious!! My goodness...I shouldn't have started downloading it...but it was just so irrisistable with its link on my download favorites menu. I should get my lady friends together one day for a Korean Drama Marathon and just watch tv till we get all fuzzy and dizzy! But for now, I have one more chapter left of "My Lovely Sam Soon" and I will be officially done!
Oh, and a special special "thank you" to my Darren..this past Saturday he planned an entire day out in celebration for my belated bday (since we were busy before). He took me out for dim sum, walked the malls (well, I had a choice..mall or skating...duh..mall of course =P), watched King Kong (very good! Must see! It's very long tho..pee before you go in), ate dinner at Hana Sushi, and had dessert over at Yamato's with Sorpie. I still can't believe we spent 2 hrs at Yamato's just talking...time flies by when you are having fun! Anyways, I know it was so much work on his part to plan everything, so he deserves a special smooch and hug for planning everything and making the day so fun!
Anyways, I have to go off and memorize my fatty acids and phospholipids for my stoopid BioChem class. Toodles!

Work should just burn to the ground
Why you may ask?
You get that attitude when you work at 11.5 hr shift at work. I was pretty much near explosion when my boss told me that I had 44 samples (double the normal amount) of samples to be done in oh....half the amount of time. Oh oh, correction, 1/3 of the time. I got so angry, that my vision went all fuzzy again, which is not a good thing, cause I realized it means that I'm REALLY mad.
So you can pretty much say I was ttttttttthhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiissssssss close to quitting, or rather, just walking out.
Anyways, to more weird news, my Chem 573 class only has 10 people. That's right boys and girls, TEN. You can count on your fingers too. TEN. Now, isn't that scary? I wonder what is in store for me in this class. It is getting quite difficult, seeing that my prof has a heavy accent to boot (but seems like a nice guy). My goodness....ten people...what have I gotten myself into?
Anyways, I should really head off. I need to read bchem, since I'm really behind on my readings and it's only been the first week of school *sigh* Oh wells. Looking VERY forward to belly dancing class with Diana next week....................it's gonna be a hoot!

School's in...
Secondly............................school starts tomorrow. Bah!!! But alas..reality sucks ass. This semester is going to be tough. My 573 class requires a 40% average on both midterm and final to pass the class by C-. Oh dear lord. Do you have any idea how hard that class must be?! I'm seriously nervous as hell, contemplating what the hell I've gotten myself into. *sigh*, oh wells.
Thirdly, 40 Year-Old Virgin rules!

Hahahahaha...the dude is hilarious...!!! It was such a funny movie!! It really a must see for a good laugh!
Fourth, the "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon" soundtrack is actually really good. Who would have thought?? I'm only on chapter 11 of the Korean drama, but it has pulled out so many surprises on me that left me gasping and cheering (really loud..."kiss her kiss her!!!" chants), and the characters are so lovable. Really, Korean dramas are so much better when they are comedy...not the overdramatic I-Love-You-So-Much-I-Will-Do-a-Eye-Transplant-Because-You-Have-Eye-Cancer-Booooo-Hoooo dramas. Yucks! But I'm currently downloading another one called "Sweet 18", and "My Girl" (as highly recommended by Grace), and Audrey got me a REAL dvd set Korean drama called "Only You". I wanna watch it so bad!!! But I must finish this Kim Sam Soon one first!
So many to watch, so little time. If only a day had more than 24 hrs.....
And lastly.............my Donna is leaving...................................................today!!!! Booo hooo!!!! I won't see you for 6 months!!! That's too long!!! But please take care in England......I know you will have an experience of a lifetime over there...........!!!! We'll miss you here! *hugs*
Ah okie..it's getting really late...I should be heading to bed now. Toodles y'all =P

Party like it's 2-0-0-6!
A new year, a new start. Yahoo!!
Nothing new to report. Eating LOADS of chocolate that is on sale right now from all those Xmas specials. Can't be good for my thighs (or my waistline). Boxing Day shopping was a disappointment. I hit the malls early 8:00 in the morning, and dragging poor sleepy Darren with me. We hit up Market and Chinook, with not much success. I managed to buy a sweater, some sweat/excercise pants for belly dancing, and a pair of pyjamas. Tis all. I was walking in expecting LOADS of things on sale and coming out with bagfuls of bootfiul clothes. But alas, no. Ah wells. Life goes on =)
So Brian had this questionnaire/survey on his blog, and I thought it would be nifty to recap the year. Here goes:
My Life Audit, 2005
1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Um...nothing much that I could think of. Probably go on my first overseas trip on my own with Darren to Hong Kong. It was scary, considering that my Chinese is barely above acceptable levels with communication and understanding. But I'm glad I went; it was an eye opening and cultural experience.
2. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Get through the school year, period. Actually, more specifically, that I got through Math 331. I cried my heart out over a C-, no kidding.
3. What was your biggest failure?
For this year, nothing..............yet. Shouldn't be asking questions like this...spread good luck and good cheer everywhere! But I think one of the biggest let downs was getting laid off work, despite the good work I was doing. But because of company profits and politics, I had to be let go. It was a very depressing and stressful time of my life.
4. What was the silliest thing you did?
Oh goodness, there are probably too many things, small things, that I've probably done and I don't remember. I'm sure Darren, Brian, Grace and Diana, can count the many things I've done on their fingers and toes. I think one of the nuttiest things I've done was drinking wayyyyyy too much with Darren's coworkers. Bah!
5. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope...except from the usual asthma related colds or knee popping incidents, nothing much to report (sounds like a lot..hmmm...)
6. Where did most of your money go?
Goodness...that is a VERY good question. Where DID my money go?!?! Certainly not my bank account. Rather to the blood sucking money hungry University of Calgary.
7. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My trip to HK! It was 3 weeks of painful waiting through finals and everything!
8. Who was the best new person you met?
All my friends from school: Brian, Diana, Grace. Thank goodness I've met them all, or I would have gone insane from the pressures of school. They all have made my day brighter and certainly made going to school a whole lot more fun.
9. What was your favorite TV programme?
CSI, and Simpsons. My sister recently got the season 5 of The Family Guy. That show is friggin hilarious. I must watch it more often!
10. What was the best book you read?
Too many! Da Vinci's Code was very good. And also, Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood is probably one of my alltime favorites (Brian, you should read this book. I think you will like it)
11. What was your favorite film(s) of this year?
I haven't watched very many movies this year. So whatever movie I have watched, I seriously don't remember. Probably cause they all sucked hahaha! But I have started watching Korean dramas, so if they count, the ones I've liked are SangDoo Lets Go to School and My Name is Kim Samsoon. And oh oh oh!!! Waterboys!!! That movie is hilarious!!!!
12. What did you want and get?
My job back (and I got it back).
13. What did you want and not get?
For the Chem dept. to offer Chem 331/333 during spring and summer so I can graduate this year ( and that didn't happen)
14. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
The motivation to go and excercise more, stop procrastinating, be more passionate in whatever I do.
15. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Study more..? Hahaha! Spend more time with friends, family.
16. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder: Happier, I think. Or I hope. I've got a wonderful boyfriend, friends and family. Happiness, I believe, is something that you yourself have to create, and that no one else can do it for you. So therefore, be happy, since being sad won't get you anywhere in life.
Thinner or fatter: Fatter..my goodness..all those chocolates I got for Xmas. They are all so tempting and good!
Richer or poorer: Richer. My job has taught me that Chemistry is difficult to find a great future with a well paying job. So save up now while I'm in school so I won't be screwed over later on when/if I'm jobless.
17. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
-Never underestimate a prof's ability to screw you over (evidence: Chem 425 final)
-Smile, and be happy =)
-Some friends come and go, but there are very few there that last a lifetime. It's so very important to cherish those friendships, cause those ones are the ones that keep you sane and will be there when you need them.
Tis the end, over and out.
-Karen
