An Empty House
Although the family is doing alright and we're still a little sensitive about his passing, and we miss him so much still. Today, the vet called, and we finally recieved his ashes in a little white urn. I really liked it....and I thought the urn was very tastefully done. I think Simon would have been happy with our choice =)
Onto better news: my last day at work was yesterday!! Oh how it felt good to finally be free of that jailhouse. The complications that arose on the last day just verified that I was just so glad to be leaving. First, russian dictator decided that everyone only could take a 30 min lunch break, which pretty much banned us from going out for a farewell lunch. But we took an hour break anyway and left (what is he going to do..fire us for taking a break..?). And then my supervisor wanted me to train my replacement on how to calibrate the instrument (helloo...I don't even know how to do that...), and another handful of little office-politics problems come up which made me so thankful for leaving. Good riddance. However, I will miss the people there...they were really the ones who kept me smiling all day long:

Me and Tracy
My uber motivation and passion for my work (with my baby FTIR in the background)
Me and some of the girls at work
Yes, this is a ritual we perform before we start to test samples (j/k)
Ahhh..although the management is bad, the people were awesome. If it's anything, I'll miss them all..!
