-40 degrees Celcius....
I've been thinking lately how I can enjoy my newfound time off once I finish school. I mean, when you're in school, you're always "I can't wait till I'm done..I can travel the world!!" Then reality kicks in (and so do student loans), and makes you yearn for more practical things. So I've composed a semi-list (semi, due to the high possibility that I'll be a lazy ass and not do anything) of things that I would like to accomplish:
- I think I would really like to take up yoga and/or pilates. I need to learn to be more agile, and I think the excercise would help my breathing. Me and Diana have already decided to do another belly dancing class, so if anyone wants to join us.........!
- One hobby that I would adore to take up is photography. I love looking at minimalist pictures of people or beautiful scenery, or even capturing the essence of an emotion. It's always so, so hard to get that one perfect picture. I would love to have this guy's weekend job as a photojournalist *link*.
- For sure, I need to read more.
- Oh yeah, GET A GOOD JOB.
- Err...clean my room *winces*
So, I'm in a position for another phone interview with a oilfield fracturing company tomorrow. Now, can anyone tell me whats up with phone interviews? Am I missing something here? Do people not take my job hunting seriously? I'll be so much happier to come down, in -40 degree weather, wearing nice pants and high heels, to impress you with my solid handshake, and dazzle you with a good morning smile. Face to face works a lot better on me. It's difficult to get across positive energy and vibes over the phone. But alas, I have another one. But seriously...can someone tell me if phone interviews are done to shorten the number of candidates for a job? I would like to know if I am a running contender for something.
Speaking of which, 4 interviews later, the first company hasn't contacted me back about the position I was vying for. Which pisses me off. They are a week late. I will email the guy tomorrow as well.
Sorpie, this is for you at work. I think you'll like this! (if you haven't seen it before)
Okay I'm off...gonna work on my presentation now..ciao!

Telephone interviews actually aren't too bad... I find them a lot easier than being in a room full of 2-3 people grilling you on what you can offer the company! Anywho, hope you find some luck with this one!
Ooh - I had registered for a belly dancing conditioning class too! But I am late everytime I try to attend the classes so I end up skipping a lot of them 0_0 Try the ones offered with Calgary Parks and Recreation - they're a lot more affordable compared to the ones offered in the studios!
