Karen--spinning in circles..

Uh oh..

So..what does it exactly mean when you email your boss for an extra day off, in which she responds "sure" and "I would also like to talk to you too". Uh oh. This is 99% never ever good. Never ever. Last time I got one of those, I got laid off. Could this be it again? Could this be the big cut? I knew that I would get laid off sooner or later, but I held hope it wouldn't be this soon.

I might be joining the ranks of the unemployed soon. Never a good way to start off the new year. Great. Now I REALLY don't want to go to work next week. I'm really worried.

What could she possibily want to talk to me about? Did I do something wrong...screw up something? Couldn't have..I haven't been to work for about a week now. Oy. I really do think the looming "lay-off" is going to happen.

Time for the grand job hunt *sigh*.

  • No worries Karen - "I want to talk to you" doesn't necessarily mean bad news...

For instance, my big boss once said that he wanted to have a talk with me, which my first thought was "Uh-oh, I'm in trouble"!! He said that I'm doing such a good job that he was going to give me a break. He paused for the longest time, so I thought I was going to be laid off since there wasn't much work to do at the time, but he told me that they needed my help with this trade show that my company was holding, so I breathed a sigh of relief.

Hopefully things will be ok for you as well! Also, good luck on exams!! =)
