Very touched

Weddings are always so beautiful and grand...no matter if it's your own or others.

Last night's wedding was exactly that...congrats Ricky and Jennifer...I am so very very thrilled and happy for you guys!

It had all the elements of a perfect wedding:

  • The bride started crying on reciting her vows..in which erupted into a room full of tears. Even I got teary (it was really quite the happy time), and so did the bridesmaids, groomsmen, the piano player, the parents, and even the official marrying them. Oy.
  • It had the little baby that everyone was enamoured with (including me...she was such a cutie)
  • There was sooo much food...I couldn't believe it...so much seafood in one sitting!
  • There was also the wedding cheap-o. What do I mean by that? He's the guy who goes around to each table after the reception and proceeds to collect all of the wedding favors that people haven't taken. Well, that's fine actually..I mean why not right? But why is this the wedding cheap-o? Because not only did he take the favors, but he takes all the unused napkins and wetnaps left on the table by the restaurant too. I sat there, incredulously, a few seats away, while this guy rifled through our stash, took whatever was "usable", ran back to his table, hid the new stash on the chair, and ran to another table, while his "mother" kept watch. It was amazing.
  • And there were also the games for the bride and groom. Oh man. Those were so hilarious. They totally got played.
  • The groom also serenated to the bride. That was very, so, so, sweet. And after when he was done, he stood there looking at the crowd, with this huge smile on his face. That's when I knew this was truly the happiest day of his life.
  • Even Darren and his friends said that they haven't seen Ricky smile so much in their 10+ yrs of friendship. Now that I think about it...it's true...
  • The wedding cake was from Yamato's. How can you beat that??
  • Ken, the mcee, was freaken hilarious. Ricky bared the brunt end of the embarassment most of the time, which was fine by most of the crowd.

Anyways, it was a beautiful and amazing time. I wish them both eternal happiness and luck...!

PS: remember when I was walking from Sunridge to Marlborough yesterday? I was a dummy and should've been on the other side of the road (I've walked from Sunridge to Marlborough before but it was a long time ago so I forgot the pathway) =P
